If it is planned to use Jatropha in non-traditional plantation setting ... then th number of square miles will need to be increased.
Intercropping is great but still uses arable land that could be used to grow food.

The issue with Belize is that much of it is environmenatally and ecologically fragile and protected.
Only 3.05% of Belize's land is actually arable.
1.95% of the land is in food production now.

Using 18% of the arable land for feedstock is going to take food off the table.
And again ... you are competing with food based feedstocks such as corn, sugarcane, etc.
the prices of these commodities are are world record highs.
