Jraska ... if you contract out to local farmers ... then you are competing Directly with existing crops which could grow commodities for sale.
with record high commodity prices ... that makes the Belize no better that buying soybeans in the USA. In fact probably worse since the USA has some of the most efficient cropping methods in the world.
Contracting out to local farmers also takes food off the tables in Belize.
Overall ... not a good business plan.
The CIA Factbook says that Belize only has 30 sq km (20 sq miles) of irrigated land. Belize is not an agricultural powerhouse.
