Jatropha can be grown at 200 gal/acre.
Sorry but the math is pretty simple.
10 mg/yr / 200 gal/acre = 50,000 acres needed.
There is NO current feedstock that could be grown on 200 acres to keep a 10 million gallon plant in production.
You simply can't compare intensive chicken production to Jatropha, soybean, corn, or any other feedstock production.
The only type of feedstock that might be capable of producing thousands of gal/acre in the future is Algae.
But there are no productive algae farms yet either.
ps I know all about intensive chicken farms.
Used to work on one when I was a lad.
pss As to getting local farmers to provide feedstock. The land is already is use producing food products. Again, you are competing with the high prices of oil crops. Not economically feasible at these high commodity prices.
And there are no Jatropha or palm plantations in Belize.
Those take years to grow.
