In an email to me, CH took credit for the unwinding. I asked him, "Wasn't that G.O.'s job?" He wouldn't answer.

Hard to believe a "salesmen"(that's how CH describes himself) takes credit for a "giveaway".

I am a retired salesman myself. It's easy to give something a way. That doesn't require salesmanship.
