using your example, would a board that had 10 posts and each
post read one at a time would show 10 posts read, while a
board that had 1000 posts and the posts were read in batches
of 100 would show 10 posts read?

I suspect, but cannot prove, that there is already manipulation. People always find a way to beat the system - your efforts notwithstanding. Point is, call that stat something else cause in its present form, the term is misleading.
