CIBC starts Sandisk with an Outperform, Lexar with an Underperform : CIBC initiates SNDK with an Outperform and $35 target, and LEXR with an Underperform and no target. Firm believes that SNDK is in full control of its margins and is sacrificing near-term margins as an investment in mkt share, while maintaining a healthy supply-demand equilibrium and driving higher-density and more profitable memory sales; also, stock trades at a 30% discount to peers. With LEXR, firm says that although the co is well-positioned in the storage mkts, it has near-term risk since its fabless model may be vulnerable to component-supply issues beyond its control.
