We are on the cutting edge, always.
"The Norwegian offshore shipping company Havila Shipping has awarded ODIM a contract of approximately NOK 100 million for the delivery of a 250 ton fiber rope ODIM CTCU system for subsea installations and two ODIM LARS systems. The delivery is scheduled for October 2010.

From the April 24/07 Deep Down Inc. PR: "support of the first synthetic rope heave-compensated winch in the Gulf of Mexico for ODIM, AS"

The Independence Hub project in the Gulf of Mexico for Anadarko and Dominion has seen Subsea 7 achieve the world’s deepest installation of an umbilical and the deepest installation of a ‘Q’ Tree using the fibre rope deployment system developed by Subsea 7 and ODIM. Both firsts were achieved in water depths of 2,750 meters. The work was carried out by Subsea 7’s construction vessel the Toisa Perseus. See page 3 for further detail of the fibre rope deployment system technology development programme.

Thanks, nucci boy. A 250 ton fiber rope. Damn. It's probably rated twice that on test.

Incredibly inventive work that's being done to find and produce deep-water oil.
