To Meme, Indy, and Others:
Folks, we have to clear the air about this, and we have to do it right away. So let me provide a bit of information that none of you may have, even though it may not really have anything to do with this.
Actually I had Matt pegged for this from the get go. The point I was trying to make to you was that what does it matter if we reach a concensus about letting someone in if one person has the power to toss them out with the simple click of the mouse? If this board has evolved into a be careful what you say to or about Meme cause Matt might toss you site, then I have some serious questions about whether or not I can continue to participate.
First, I want to say: Indy, get over it. Somebody's gotta be the board administrator, and as administrator's go, Matt is by far among the best I have ever encountered. OF COURSE somebody has to have the power to "toss them out" with a click of a mouse, or we'd run the risk of having clods like Righton show up and smear shit over everybody like a mental patient in the padded cell in the county jail smears his shit on the walls. Have you forgotten that this is a premium subscription messageboard system now? Just because there's a level of free subscription allowing someone to post up to five times a day doesn't mean they get a pass to post whatever the hell they may want.
Second, Indy -- the only hint that I've picked up that Cre8 has been 'tossed' from here is her typically very sideways remark at PI that "I can't post over there". Since Jeanie takes every possible advantage of ambiguity of language that she can, are you even sure that you know what she's saying? Has she explicitly said in some email that she's received a message from the system over here that she's been banned, suspended, or stripped of her membership? It might be that she's browsed the other boards here, posted five messages in a day, then tried to come back to the 'zone and post again, and gotten the message 'no more posts for you', and taken that as an indication she's been banned. OR, knowing her gift for verbal manipulation and backpedalling, she may "mean" that she "just can't bring herself" to post over here, and "didn't intend" to leave you with the impression that she'd been banned. So, maybe you could clear up the ambiguity. Anyway, even if she was, she can always just increment the number on her name and re-auto-register.
Third, read the two Private Messages I've framed below. I've included the time tag so everyone can see when they were sent.

I know it's probably impossible, and I probably risk looking like a true asshole for even asking this, but is there anyway to UNSPONSOR a person I've sponsored for membership if I feel I've made a grievous error?

As you can see, I sent that message to Matt a couple of days after this whole sordid, squalid mess began to break loose, because I thought my 'sponsorship' had made it possible for Cre8 to show up and do her toxically-shocking turnabout. To the extent that Matt has failed to make it clear to everyone how he has restructured the board(s) and membership in the recent past -- thus making the whole issue of 'sponsorship' and 'grandfathering' moot -- he bears some responsbility for the confusion, but not much.
If Matt has gone back and actually withdrawnCre8/lunasea's membership because of my request, he shouldn't have done it, and if that turns out to be the case, I'll send him an email to that effect -- once I'm sure that that is the case. Ihub is, after all, a public board system, and anyone -- Cre8, Terraflamma, even Righton -- is free to come here, once they know it's here and can navigate the system to find this particular board (which, I'm sure you all must know by now, is NOT all that simple, which is why more new people don't show up, and didn't start to show up until the flurry of posts occasioned by this whole thing moved us to the top of the "Hotlist"). Anyone can get a free subscription and post up to five messages a day -- which you would all know if you went to the home page and followed a couple of links like I did, when I got confused about what was going on over this.
I'm trying to stay out of the brouhaha over at PI as much as possible, despite repeatedly seeing myself referred to as 'creepy' and a 'parasite', and having Cre8 make veiled references to 'creepy things' that went on in email and Yahoo IM between us. I think her very purpose in posting shit like that is to provoke my response, as she did the other day, just so she can then come back with another poor-poor-pitiful-me, see-this-is-how-honors-my-request-to-leave-me-alone posts.
I may have more to say later today.
