CFC - Countrywide Pessimism (Schaeffer..)
Friday's activity saw pessimism on Countrywide Credit (CFC: sentiment, chart, options) continue the rise that started early last week. Put activity on Friday for CFC was 2.4 times its average daily volume, with a total of 10,137 contracts changing hands. The Schaeffer's put/call open interest ratio jumped from 0.90 to 1.45 in the past week. Option traders are not the only ones showing pessimistic feelings toward CFC. During the most recent reporting period, the number of CFC shares sold short increased by 23 percent, pushing the short-interest ratio higher to 4.16.
