I to read same or simillar article. Could easilly see how DDI could apply to this (especially FT and Mako). I think there will be many non oil related applications for DDI in the future. I also live in Oregon - Baker City. sagedono
There are several aspects of that type of project that may overlap DDI products and services.
Specifically, the preliminary site studies would likely be using ROVs (Mako) and oceanographic equipment (Flotation Technologies provides bouyancy). The engineering of structures and moorings, fabrication, and installation would all require services parallel to those available through DDI.
I would think the power cabling and control/monitoring systems would also be closely related to services and products DDI provides.
If it weren't for the fact that drilling/production of deep oil (and services to it) are exploding, I'd say DDI would already be involved in many related ocean engineering project such as the one you mention.
