Hi Phil,

Please know I don't think you're a heathen. I was just stretching the logic a bit.

I think it was Castle who brought up the Susan Smith case. It really got me thinking. I'm ambivalent about the death penalty, but would have supported it for Susan Smith, though not for Andrea Yates. I see Yates as profoundly psychotic, Smith as a cold-blooded, calculating killer.

Interesting grist for the mill....
