That is a sweet animation of the system!

Interesting that they seem targeted to the yacht sector and not the DP2 sector for offshore drilling.

There may be regulatory hurdles that are different for the offshore drilling DP2 certification, just guessing.

edit- DP2 is a dynamic positioning qualification that applies to drilling vessels and supply vessels (among other things) and it means the vessel can hold position automatically. The "2" means it has complete redundancy so if any part fails the vessel will still hold station by using the backup for the failed component.

Good find Sea-Note. That seems just the ticket for an ice breaker that sometimes hits a seawall, or has to dodge icebergs.

I wonder if this bit of data from March is related to the project.

Nice video of the StaSys DPS. I saw the StaSys listed on their products page couple of days back but hadn't seen a link. and hadn't seen a video. Very cool system - high tech and combining many of EW's areas of expertise - CCTV/Monitoring/Control systems. Did you notice that they opened up a new market for themselves with "Yacht Controls"?!
Edit: Still catching up with posts - I see you already mentioned the Yacht market:)

Also my bad (posting while exhausted) MPCMS is an acronym for Machinery Plant Control & Monitoring not Main Propulsion Control & Monitoring - my very smart wife of many years pointed my bad out for me when I got home with much ribbing about having a "senior" moment - it's bad when they know to much of your world LOL!
