rbl, i guess an even safer place to be would be to regress even further and be back in your mother's womb.
if the liberals caused the world to be the way it is, then why didn't the conservatives play a role in anything? Were they too busy ripping off people to shape the destiny of the future? Especially since they were in power for most of the time since your childhood.
Blaming liberalism for everything you find negative is a bit disingenius and would only point to the question of why are conservatives so helpless and impotent that they cannot be part of the evolving world?
I would beg to differ that they have been major shapers in the total chaotic mess that our country is in now. Imperial wars, corporate domination of our political system, ignoring many of our basic principles in matters such as habeous corpus, torture, and ignoring sovereign status of other countries are things that happened on the conservative's watch, with only moderate participation from the far left.
Both sides have done some less than wonderful things for us at times, and sometimes have done great things, but the last 7 years have been like a nightmare for the values that you espoused as the desirable condition of america. Check your mirror if you want to see lemming-like dogma~~ following blindly along any course is dangerous, but follwing the fascist route is a tried and true loser's path.
