Dow Chemical raises prices another 25%... the largest in the company’s history — comes after a 20 percent rise last month that the company said did not go far enough given the continuing surge in energy prices.
I work in the chemical business so this move is unprecedented. Expect to see prices on EVERYTHING non-agriculture related shoot up in price this year.
2009 will be very interesting. The Traders' Almanac calls the year after the election the "post-Presidential Election Syndrome", a condition in which the U.S. economy suffers from a collective fiscal hangover. Most of the worst recessions and depressions occur the year following an election.
