I think that they will allow him to buy more shares as long as it is mutually beneficial. Most of the board members, from what I can tell, are not wealthy enough to sustain the share price through heavy buying. This opens the door for Mr. Kirk. Whether or not he can ever own half of the company will be dependant on the supply and demand for the shares. At some point, there will also be no more shares to short...
In the meantime, my guess is that the board will increase his ownership limit.
