wbmw - I didn't estimate cache size, I measured it.

Have a look at the posted link, where you can see Banias and Dothan core side by side, scaled to equal image sizes.

I don't need to produce SWAG's because I use facts presented by Intel.

Here it is again, because it seems, you ignored it:

DDB, Re: If Dothan would have been scaled down with a ratio of 0.6 (like Opteron), it would be 69 mm²

Your estimates on cache size are SWAG at best. I suspect you are probably off. Also, a core like Dothan may be pad limited at 69mm^2. Another possibility is the inclusion of disabled features that will be turned on and disclosed at a later date.

I had a careful look at a photograph of the Banias die
and did a calculation of how big a 2 MB Banias would
be and the number I came up with was 116 mm2.

However that doesn't mean that the factor by which the
Opteron shrunk by going to 90 nm (114/193) necessarily
applies to Dothan. The large area occupied by the L2 in
the 130 nm Opteron suggests that its was far from an
optimal layout. Secondly we don't know the extent of
CPU changes introduced in Dothan.
