This is a very strange bidding proccess - USCG and yards have been very secretive of the process - the USCG in the RFP asked each yard to come up with their own hull design and confguration - only put down "performance" specifications...no detail specifications. I have not even been able to find out which yards are even bidding on it although I could make an educated guess based on knowledge of what yards could best compete for it.
EW MPCMS and other systems are in the very top tier in comparisson to other systems...I won't name them but many are very large names in defense contracting and it is relatively easy to find out who installed what on any given class of vessel.
Last year EW installed a retired Navy Commander as President...I believe it was for a reason and in the world of government contracting the time lags in getting contracts is long but the dollar value potential & size of the the contracts are massive.
I would expect to see some EW successes from their efforts anytime now ranging out for years to come.
