I would just like to clarify that I think a HIF-1a inhibitor should be used before, during and maybe a short time after its paired chemo/radiation treatment.
My concern is that... as I understand it... this is still in the hypothetical stage... which begins with a big IF... so the question is... does this get proven in a clinical trial first... or do you take a chance knowing that you may not have all of the data required to develop the effective protocol and maximize the opportunity for success? This type of pursuit has hurt Enmd in the past...e.g.the bio-availability problems with Panzem and earlier with the bolus dosing of angio- endostatins...
The theory is good... but, will it work?
Having said that... given a 1 in 10 chance for success... and if I were the patient... I would say go for it...
