Ninja - I think that what plays into people not selling is the fact that it happens realitively slowly. A person buys in say with a $1,000 and over the first couple of months the stock loses a little bit - say $100. This of course can be explained away by a little dilution, or tax selling etc. The products are still good and being delivered so no worrys right? The next couple of months the stock goes down a few hundred more, but the company is promising good results, financials, a dividend, the boards are all still pretty positive except for a few so called bashers. The DD has not changed and if we catch a "break" shes gonna fly. Human nature kicks in - damm I sold to early and it took off - stupid me. I'll just hold since I want none of that selling to early embaressment. Couple more months go by and we lose a little more - know we are down $500-600. Still promising information from the Co. This keeps happening and before you know it, its worth nothing. Not even really worth selling.
Its easy to look back a say I should have, could have. hindsight is after all 20/20. When its happening slowly and one is emotionally involved its hard to see the big picture.
Then there are others who considered it a gamble from the begining and just let it ride.
