the companies have no interest in testing to see if the drugs help people with mutant genes. Since the drugs are approved they would rather give it to everyone. They get more money that way.

The NIH would have to do the study.

The genetic screening test for mutant EGFR isn’t available yet, but it will supposedly be ready in a few months. Until then, one could test the tissue samples if they’ve been saved.
