No, I got the year right (2000). That was the period right after the Presidential election when the results were still up in the air as to who our Prez would be. The market had been waiting for the election hoping to find some direction. When the election outcome just dragged on and on, the market floundered around not knowing what to do. Thus the "hanging chad" factor I referred to.
Thanks for asking about Mrs Amuck. She was supposed to resume chemo treatments last Wednesday but her blood platelet count on Tuesday was way too low (44,000 - needs to be 200,000+). So last week they took a bone marrow sample for testing. We get the results back tomorrow, but they fully expect to find cancer activity in her bone marrow. That won't prevent further chemo treatments, but will change how they administer them and will require much closer monitoring. Anyway, we're just doing what we have to do and taking each day as it comes. EVERYBODY please volunteer your computer for the cancer research project.
