Like children do...ignore the ones who know and speak the truth, fingers in ears, la la la and tounge out. LOL

It is totally understandable that a college student or professor would be liberal. Thinking about ideas in a shelter from the realities of a cold, hard world of facts does not make you a cynical conservative. People turn conservative by age 30 when they realize certain truths that crush the myths of various liberal idealisms.

Liberals are idealists because their youthful imaginations have not become tempered by the hard facts of real life. Yes, we can dream and imagine; but, those faculties, when applied to opinion and fact must be replaced by evidence from experience and observation; this maturity process is lifelong, but usually begins at age 30.

Liberals always expect the argument and respective facts listed on paper. This is what you do in school: list all the facts that support your argument. Well, in the real world, belief can be formed by collective observation and experience. We call much of this common sense. I can't list all these facts, but they accumulate to form my beliefs through mental generalization and abstraction. Not every belief is supported (or should be supported) by a syllogism. Belief is much complex than your little proofs can show and actual judgments can support or show. Living in the real world and thinking as you live is how you learn; this model is a little different from the Ivory Tower liberals prefer, Eh?

There is an old saying which says that " A Conservative is a Liberal who got mugged."
Some people are true idealists and demand that the good fairy make everything right (as they see it).
They want freedom but are not willing to sacrifice for it.
They want Free speech but would deny me my right to speak if I did not agree with them.
They want us to take care of the poor but think that only the rich and succesful should pay that bill.
They love their minority brothers as a Race but not as individuals.
There is a great deal of hypocrisy and self righteousness
among these people.
There is also a lack of ability to face the real world.
