mk, since the season is upon us, let's be clear: unlike some nutjobs out there, i'm not hoping for a hurricane, nor is warren buffett when he plays the insurance stocks during the next few months. if what humans wanted ever correlated with the weather it wouldn't be called "hope" anymore, would it?

the fact is mako's revenues were way up in aftermath of katrina. and you're absolutely right -- no, they don't "need" hurricanes to make money, but it certainly would create a lot more revenue. all we have to do is look at their financials over the last few years. jmho.

mk, Thanks for those additional points to consider. DDI/Mako is a well rounded Co in terms of not being dependent on hurricanes to keep busy. While I neither wish nor pray for hurricanes, they are a fact of life. Our DD is just to understand what, if any, are the implications for DDI/Mako. Co's like OII, Caldive/Helix etc did get a lot of hurricane recovery related work, post-Katrina. It's just something to keep on the radar. Hopefully we have an uneventful hurricane season with a lot of constructive work going on, on deepwater projects and that DDI continues to make a pretty penny supplying products/services to them.
