imo opinion no major oil company will be putting any project on hold regardless of storms . we are in a very, very competitive market where black gold is the hottest commodity on earth and for names sake and prestige you better believe the big boys will stop at no expense to be the first to pull it out of the deep and ultra deep waters of the ocean.
this is also where our company dpdw has a very strategic edge and the synergies of all four tie in beautifully as we are able to complete a much faster turnaround time than our competition and put the much desired product or innovative solution into the hands of our customers, which in turn translates into bigger dollars and higher margins(JMHO)
I was DD on another subject and ran across this at the Mako site. They do more than just rent equipment. I can see Mako doing the damage survey then suggesting to the customer they know a great company called DDI to do the repairs.

They (operators) appear to be better prepared based on the lessons of Katrina/Rita. Remains to be seen if it's good enough. I do see DDI involved in repairs/replacements for any damaged infrastructure. Even without damages, I also anticipate survey work to see the adequacy of the infrastructure before and after storms - how well did the infrastructure hold up; did it "bend but not break" and does it need to be replaced? I very much doubt that projects/purchases will be put on hold as the hurricane season commences. It is a risk like all project risks and individual projects may totally be untouched by hurricane activity.
