Despite being in my fifth consecutive year as a US taxpayer (eight in total) and being the father of two US citizens I didn't get anything as I filed a joint return and my wife has a TFN not a SS#. That little bit of fine print became public knowledge on filing day.
Moral of the story (a) read the fine print and (b) don't trust a politician.
