Just out of curiosity, how does he do that?

I generally agree with him, but I do wonder how "something" could have come into being from absolutely "nothing".

That, of course, doesn't necessarily posit a "Creator"; at least not for me. But if, in the "beginning", there was "nothing", then how was space created? How was time created? I don't think one could have time independent of the other dimensions, but who knows? I'm not Hawking...
