BOGOTA, N.J. -- A large amount of chemicals stolen from a concrete plant in Bogota, N.J. has sent law enforcement officials on high alert.
3,300 gallons stolen
The chemical Rheocrete, a form of nitrate, is commonly used to prevent corrosion in steel. But officials said it could be used as a deadly chemical weapon.
Police said they believe the theft of tanker truck in New Jersey earlier this month could be connected. A nationwide alert has been sent out.
However, if this same compound, calicum nitrite, as in this data sheet which doesn't sem to be very damgerous, except that be an oxidizer agent.
