I would suggest you start a different contest with different rules.

The PSL contests are first, and foremost, STOCK-PICKING contests. They are not MACRO-PREDICTING contests. Even so, the "legally allowed" rules will let you have have 2 of 6 units short and 1 of 6 units cash. Essentially, that makes you market neutral. Besides, a good stockpicker would surely be able to come up with three other companies which benefitted on the misery of others!
