You really think its wise to place more power in the hands of moderators? How much deletion power corrupts a moderator?

Inb my opinion, assistant mods should not be allowed to delete posts without approval of the moderator.

Someone somewhere along the line has to be responsible for moderator actions.... especially if you want to impose poster penalties based on that privilege.

like the ideas, though something should be added that addresses a moderator's deletion performance.. (i.e. if a moderator or assistant is constantly having deletions overturned by admin...etc)

Oh, I see - I completely missed the boat on the goal.

Personally, I've always liked the idea of some sort of ranking based on stock pics/performance. I think Matt said at some point that may be a possibility through the portfolio feature when ADVFN tools are perfected. But, don't hold me to that - it could've also been something I imagined. :)

I'm an admin mod at another site, which I don't usually specify in order to avoid even the appearance of "promoting" another board. However, I think it's useful to mention that the member-rating system there allows for "adding to" a poster's "reputation," or subtracting from it. Here, "membermarks" are somewhat useful as a guide to "who's tracking whom," but it's not dynamic--in other words, unless you're almost stalking a given nick, all you see is that day's number of marks, which means no way to gauge whether said rep is rising or falling...

Also, there's an option to NOT be rated--which I enabled...because we had a problem with organized pump n dump groups who used multiple aliases to run their scams, and I busted 'em, so they'd come back later and attack my rating.

Am simply offering some "brainstorm" ideas...
