So my question is rather direct. Is it acceptable to IHUB for a moderator to receive outside compensation for a company they moderate?

Why not? The MODERATOR's role is to enforce iHub's TOU on that board. Period. Whether they are paid or not by the company should not be an issue vis a vis their role as MOD. The compensation issue is a legal issue, IMHO, outside iHub's mandate ie to provide a forum for discussion of the company in accordance with a set of rules, ie the TOU, that everyone agreed to abide by when they took their alias.

Tim, of PQL Research fame, was a mod for the PHGI thread for a long time, while under retainer from the company. He's since quit "full-service" promotion, and changed his nick. You might check that board for complaints, but I'm not aware of any. Without "taking sides," I agree it is questionable.

lol! I see there is a party going on here tonight. Wow lots of posts to catch up on.

2 things I would like to share my input on.

1. I do agree with you that promoters should not be allowed to mod the stock board they are promoting. I just feel there is a conflict of interest. Whereas I hear stories of certain promoters who have played fair in my time at the HUB I have yet to see one that does. IMO!

2. Also I do feel it is hard for Admin to monitor every board on the HUB. There are over 10,000 stocks trading in the pinks alone. I can only imagine how many boards are on the Hub. Thus I cannot blame the Admins for the crap that takes place on these boards. I blame certain posters for their lack of respect and maturity. IMO!
