#134 RE: Old Frank P #133

1/2 off-topic... If i remember correctly marcos started this board
and mentioned that he had it placed under the Free category,
of which i'm not up to speed on what that means except that
it makes its easy for non-paying iHut members to post on.
I do remember a post on Si that mentioned that those who
post here on iHub without a subscription fee are limited to
a small number of posts per day, like 10 i think it was.
But maybe the Free boards have this as unlimited,
but i hope not, but then...

Also, i created one board here under a bio-tech type category
that already had a bunch created for similiar companies,
and then created a board for a Canadian precious/base metals
explore company, but had to insert in under Miscellaneous
since no precious metals or base metals header was available.
There was an oil header i think. Seems that of all the categories
under the top header Canadian that base and precious metals
generate more revenue that some of those listed. Guess it just
not a name catching type area like computers etc. But if the
BIG "if" happens, and gold prices rocket then lots of folks will be
looking for a gold mining category and find none explicit. Don't
know if the datebase used here has the ability to rename links
or names that comprise the url so that if someone had a "hard"
url that went directly to a iHub...Miscellaneous/xyz would still
work if iHub made a Gold Mining category with all pathways
that go to Miscellaneous and IDENTIFIED by the board creater
that they would like their gold mining board "transfered."

Its said that possession is 99% ownership, and this may explain
why the Si Gold Price Monitor unmoderated thread is still used
and not the moderated one i made to exclude the wall-paper'ing
of longone that refuses to give an upfront info and then the url,
rather than he posting many many "almost" on-topic articles
in full text that causes my viewing Next 10 to require about a zillion
Page Down keyboard clicks, along with the "never ending" off topic
posts of Chatters and StonedGray that collects a following of a few
different folks that have an interest in what they post, like the recent
chemistry info of atoms and molecules reactions. Guess as long
as they "possess" that thread that others interested in on topic
material will simply stay away and not even post questions or add
on topic info. A shame, but those 3 have "possession" and that
saying that its a 99% ownership rule when there is no law or any
moderator to enforce on topic posting, or simple "allow" on topic
posting to occur by keeping that steady stream of off topics off.

Maybe marcos could create an Gold Price Monitor board here,
and in my opinion, that what this board should have been named :o)
rather than general mining which will not capture eye-balls like
one with the gold word in it, especially if we keep over $300.

So where are you at with the miners, Frank? ... i haven't caught your thread over there for some time, way behind on SI threads, distracted by real life stuff ... not keeping up with stocks all that much either, could get a rude awakening one day going to sleep on them ... but then they were all bought for a reason, and pre-computer i used to hold stocks and often only check their quotes once a week from saturday's paper

tvx.to - [i see you just posted about it over there] - they don't have much choice, it's important to keep that NY listing and they don't have the cash to do a big buyback .... i'm not up on the whole story but it would appear that their major problems are behind them ... that being said i wouldn't buy the stock today because rollbacks nearly always tank them at least temporarily ... plus i never was in love with their property package or the way they used to go about things [judging from five years ago or so] .... cheers
