hap, are you saying that humans can't be cooperative, have a common spirit, and tone down their egoism? When I think of egoism, I think of people who aren't satisfied with what they've got and strive for more, more, more.
I was once treated for a medical condition and I asked three of the doctors, all privately (each one alone), what amount of money would they be satisfied with as a yearly payment if they knew that that was all they'd get for the rest of their lives (adjusted for inflation each year). One million? Two Million? Three Million? Ten Million? Not one of them could give me an answer....but I can tell you that each one realized what I was getting at. We are a greedy society.
