There is a perverted twist to the intellectual integrity of the liberal case when responsibility is removed from the equation. True, respectable liberals cringe when this happens.

The sad thing is, the Palestinians don't benefit from being permitted to think they can, like spoiled children, have their cake and eat it too. Pacifying a spoiled child with platitudes and leading them to develop expectations of the impossible does that child no favors. Any adult parent knows that.

It's cruel, and unproductive for certain factions to permit demagoguery and false hopes be placed in certain Arab minds. And only ensures a poorer, more strife-ridden life for them.
