#41022 RE: ergo sum #41020

One moment, you think that you chose those UN "intentions" you want to actualize and those you don't? The Arabs did not accept partition, a sovereign state came out of the ashes of that conflict (which was precipitated by the neighboring Arab nations), and at that time, the UN had no longer anything to say about what a sovereign state decides its capital will be, West Jerusalem was part of the Israeli state, and became its capital. In 1967, Jerusalem showed the way to Berlin how to reunify a split city, not because the Israeli coveted the old city, but because Hussein coveted Tel Aviv and decided to join Egypt and Syria in attacking Israel, he was asked numerous times to stay out of that war, to no avail, so give Jerusalem back to Hussein, when he wanted Tel Aviv? Just like denying Germany using Berlin as their capital, was Bonn not good enough? Did the UN security council or general assembly decide after unification that Berlin will be Germany's new Capital (Bonn was until then), no the German decided what will be their capital. Do you have any document you can cite on the UN deciding what cities will be the respective capitals of Bosnia, Croatia, Chechia, Slovakia , and for that matter, Latvia, Estonia and Lithuania? Since when does a sovereign nation let the UN decide where its seat of government will be?
