... trades that didn't get settled during trading hours, and settlements between MM's AH.

In no case are they trades that take place after hours.

Many of these after hour trades are makeup trades from earlier and in many occassions is an attempt to control the movement during the day.

In other words,if they let you see these trades during the day it would appear that a major seller/buyer was in control and rather cause confusion they stack them for balancing at the close and would not effect the closing price. It's also an attempt to falsly paint the charts and to allow them to continue to cover or stall any forward momentum.

They may have been caught of guard with today's volume.. These trades during the day would let us assume a major run is happening and the MMs would lose control and the need to cover much higher since this caused a major pressure on the volume.
