I download all documents; legally, that's as good as written.

I can see that they use proper lots as instructed by checking portfolio window.

Trades are guaranteed to execute within 2 seconds. I have always gotten very good prices on limit orders as well as on market orders. Never disatisfied with results.

All records are updated live. Trade confirmation reports are available for download on the following morning.

Above comments are for E*Trade, where I am most active.

Also use Fidelity and TD Ameritrade because of their software, and I like to spread my money around; also, some borkers have server traffic jams when markets get really busy, and I hate waiting.
