one can construct any plausible position one desires and there will be a set of believers. one can create a religion using a physics book, and from the set of those who know nothing of physics, there will be a subset capable of believing. that is the nature of the world. it is that nature that allows these penny scams to flourish in this market.
come up with a story that dangles a desirable conclusion in front of people and a number of those people, those with a misunderstanding of the nature of plausibility, will be willing to participate.
it's part of the inate requirement of humans for structure and order. out of the chaos of nature humans construct order and structure one way or another. it is on that basic human function that all propaganda is dependent and meets with what success it does. the world contains a plethora of differing senses of order, all from the same data set.
