Gee, I'm sorry. I keep expecting people to follow through on their responsibilities as officers of public corporations. I keep expecting that honorable people will step down temporarily for the good of the company and its remaining employees, shareholders, vendors and suppliers to permit them to continue to earn a living away from the legal problems.
I guess it would be up to the Board ofDirectors to make that decision, but then again, they all quit when the news came out. Neither one thought Plant was innocent enough to stand in there with him and support him through this ordeal. It's as if they thought he was guilty or something.
Oh, the Ruth story blindsided absolutely no one on earth except you. It hasn't detered the Feds an iota.
I'm curious. If Plant is going to plead to being a moron and being completely duped, that's going to require a duper, isn't it. I'm no lawyer, but I can't imagine a defense based on the "'they' duped me because I'm a moron but I don't know who they are" defense. That just isn't going to go over well, is it? And that means the duper(s) are going to have to have a name. Is he going to try to pin this entire scam on Ruth, someone who may not have even been employed by the company for the first several months of this scam?
This should be an interesting case. Let' see if the public defender comes up with something better than what Plant's original attorneys probably recommended.
