webster...

I wish the will of God did dictate all my actions -- would that it was that easy. The truth is, the only part of the will of God that I know for certain is what is revealed to us in Scripture. Beyond that, it becomes difficult.

Sometimes He reveals His will for us by opening and shutting doors to various opportunities and solutions to problems, and other times the answers come by careful study of precepts and tenets found in Scripture. Still others, we remain unsure of His will for a long time, until He reveals it in the exercise of His Sovereign will in our circumstances.

In my experience, anyone who tells you that knowing God's will is always easy is fibbing -- it is not. Apart from issues that are addressed in Scripture, we rarely know for certain what the will of God is, and often we will start down the wrong path only to find roadblocks or some other warning that tell us we are off of His path for us. But the good news is that He does always tell us, if we are paying attention.

Many will tell you falsely that living a Christian life is easy, but that is not the case. We are promised in Scripture that all of us will undergo tests and trials and hard times as we grow and mature in our faith. In fact, it is during those tests, trials, and hard times that we grow as Christians and become more like God wants us to be. Spiritual growth rarely comes in the good times.
