The company just needs to prtect themselves from a hostile take over. Someone must have a good percentage of shares.Companies do this to protect.

new investors? This should also scare off old investors! What a terrible thing to do to a stock that had already dropped 70% or so in the past few weeks, with absolutely no warning or explanation from tv company. I love me some beer, but c'mon.
