osama i think is just a continuation of the muslim brotherhood of 1935, 1936, from which Hamas quite openly also draws its roots. the muslim brotherhood has always been a very large spidery organization which has as its claim to fame for example, the machine gun killings of 80 europeans at Luxor in 1996 or 1998. it exists in lebanon, egypt, saudi arabia, jordan, syria and of course on west bank and gaza.
the egyptian government has tried to fight it, and it has fought back. Mubarak knows if he goes to far he will be killed
