We differ on that point respectfully Midas... I don't believe any one fuel will corner the market anytime soon, and IMO it is anything but a waste of time, but I appreciate your opinion...

Hey Midas....
I share your optimism for fuel cells in passenger cars...however large trucks and airplanes are stuck with
diesel and jet fuel for a long time to come.
I also believe current hybrid passenger cars will evolve into plug in hybrids with small diesel engines which are used exclusively to charge the batteries. More and more people will have solar cells to power their homes which will make plug in hybrids more attractive. With the new lithium ion batteries close to production and other batteries to follow (see xdsl)....plug in hybrids will soon become main stream, and be used for the foreseeable future.
Hydrogen (fuel cell) cars show a lot of promise.....but to this date we don't have an efficient way to produce hydrogen.
Most of the current hydrogen is produced from natural gas....(a bit counter productive)
Hydrogen can be produced from bacterial waste (see nnlx) and from water extraction....but nothing is practical at this time. I don't see fuel cell cars being practical for 10 years or more.....but plug in hybrids will be here in a few years and are practical now.
I believe we will see huge demand for bio-fuels for many years to come.....and the use of fuels that don't cut into our food supply or prime farm land are going to be in very high demand.
By the way....we have machines to harvest and process Jatropha. They don't have to be picked by hand?...not even in Panama.... LOL ....Besides....I don't think they are toxic to the touch...they just can't be eaten..
Hope this clears things up a bit..
