Nope, on GSGF only one date counts and that is Ex Dividend Date. You own day before ex date you get the cash. Record date is meaningless other than for the T/A to send out the corporate action notices.

Key word is EX. On March 28th it trades without the divvie/split/buyout/whatever attached, day before, it's still attached.

Ex date is 3/28/2008

The Record date is 3/7; the Ex-Date is 3/24 - they're two entirely different things.
