NAFTA was signed by a Democratic President. It has been a beneficial treaty for the U.S., Mexico, and Canada. Now change is a constant, not just a campaign theme for one Democrat, who seems to think it's a novel idea. With change comes opportunity, but also creative destruction (schumpeter). There are always some entities on the short end of the stick. Manufacturing jobs in Ohio may well have been lost in Ohio, but jobs were created elsewhere. Many jobs lost were not because of NAFTA but because of economic factors not related to NAFTA. Many of the jobs lost went to lower cost regions of the world such as China, which was not a signatory to NAFTA. Some were lost to other parts of the U.S., where taxes are lower, and right to work laws exist.
