Leading Market Research Firm Estimates that QLogic Tied for Most Fibre Channel HBA Ports Shipped In 2003


ALISO VIEJO, Calif., March 11, 2004 (PRIMEZONE) -- QLogic Corp. (NasdaqNM:QLGC - News), the company that powers storage area networks (SANs), today announced that according to a new IDC report entitled, ``Worldwide Fibre Channel Host Bus Adapter Forecast and Analysis,' QLogic shipped 43.4 percent of Fibre Channel HBA ports in 2003, tying the market's closest competitor. The report also noted that QLogic led the Fibre Channel HBA market in all three categories of year-over-year growth from 2002 to 2003, achieving 70 percent growth for Fibre Channel port shipments, 59 percent growth for HBA shipments and 46 percent growth for HBA revenue.

so if true doesn;t bode all that well....
