"Thanks to Bio Pete, Akasidney, Dew, Corpstrat, Io io, the Borg, even Nerf."
I want no credit where none is deserved. If anyone wants to know what the REAL odds of the anemia indication are, I suggest a re-read of Dewophiles relevant posts, particularly numbers 2058, 2528, 2582, 2601, 2669, 2698, 2758, and 2869. His exact words were: "...i think the anemia indication is as close to zero risk trial as there is, and ... i think the strategy for the chronic indication has a high likelihood for success...". You'll also find his views on off label use. While I respect DD's manifest knowledge, in this case I think the opinion of an ob-gyn MD who's now in IVF (reproductive endocrinologist) carries, at least with me, far more weight as to the validity of the trial design, the likelihood of 'surprise' contraindications, and the wisdom of the route to approval itself. Personally, I think Dew's 36% is laughable... but then, I'm an architect and this, while fascinating, is far afield for me...so all FWIW.
