OT: John O'Neill / FBI / Al Qaeda

Not long ago, PBS Frontline did a special called "The Man Who Knew". It focuses on the FBI's head of counter-terrorism named John O'Neill. It is a chilling expose and well-worth pursuing any way you can. Mind-blowing really.

And for all the revealing that Clarke has done, this blows away what Clarke has presented. O'Neill really did try and warn people of almost exactly what happened on 9-11. He expected the attack on the WTC and the timing. Sadly, he was killed in the attack, after having told friends at dinner the night before that he expected the attack to come any day.

The depth of the coverup on this is horrifying. Our own US Ambassador to Yemen, Barbara Bodine, personally interceded to block the FBI and CIA's investigation of the Cole bombing as they were closing in on Al Qaeda. That woman is guilty of a treasonous act in my book.

And btw, if you ever wondered about the pile of b.s. being laid down by the Clinton people testifying before the 9-11 Commission, that's because they're complicit in it. Particularly former Secretary of State Madeliene Albright, who ought to be strung up for her role in the debacle. The State Department knew exactly what she was doing, and the full consequences, but backed her up for institutional turf reasons. Despicable.

It is chilling to see the picture of O'Neill being booted out of HQ to the NY Field office and getting his information shut off from getting to Atty Gen. Janet Reno, and to the National Security team, eventually being forced to resign a month before 9-11 on the basis of a bogus internal investigation -- leaving the FBI with one less "irritant" about the Al Qaeda threat, but effectively deaf, dumb and blind in the crucial month leading up to the attack -- a self-inflicted intentional wound. In his wildest dreams bin Laden couldn't have planned it to work out so perfectly for him.

It is horrifying to see his FBI superiors, with Louis Freeh's full knowledge and approval, telling the public there were no Al Qaeda cells in the U.S., even though he had been telling them there were and had been going nuts telling them of an imminent attack on the WTC only days before he himself was killed in that attack.

As you read through some of the interviews on the site, you will see Dick Clarke on the record all the way back then. What's coming to light through him now is not some kind of johnny-come-lately b.s. to promote a book. It's been his life's passion and you can see very clearly that nothing has changed throughout his career to now.

If you see one documentary on 9-11, this should be it.
