Unless everyone's lying, the ice does seem to be melting. Something IS going on. As usual though, we argue instead of do. If some of the reports from the Antarctic are true, there could be some interesting times ahead for the coasts.

The Meander Minimum, the little ice age, had no sun spots for 70 yrs.

the sheer volume of carbon emissions is many multiples from the 1940's, even with wartime action. A 100,000 acre wildfire in the west today exceeds the output of the average yearly output attributable to WWII.
and you must remember that it is additive, so that one year's surplus doesn't necessarily go away, other than what is recaptured in plant sequestration. So the Hitler addition is still a part of the present elevation, he helped leave a fine, measurable base. to check the numbers, just google the output of fossil fuels over time.

In WWII, New Zealand had glaciers. Ain't got none now. Greenland was bigger too.
But if change doesn't happen between fill-ups, I guess to some it never happened at all.

I don't see global warming as necessarily bad because I don't live in New Orleans or NYC. Also, contrary to what some have said about GW benefiting Canada, I see the Canucks growing less wheat and fewer trees. OTOH, some might say less BC wine would be a benefit to mankind,
so I'll admit the consequences are debatable.
