Well you 'gather' wrong...
I am fine with my religion. I do not however, believe that every single word is to be taken literally. My post was written to exemplify that fact.
Several years transpired before anything was actually 'written'.
Also, there were many translations.
Many things were altered or left out as certain sections did not please the current rulers of that time.

By your post, you seem to have a problem with Leviticus.
I am sure you will agree that the Bible must be taken in its entirity, and that every word is inspired by God. What difference should it make if only selected verses are quoted ? Are they all not true, with each standing equally well alone ?
