As for the violations of cease fire I believe even the most ardent warmonger realizes that we were provoking them and it became a game. Our fighters wanted them to shoot at our planes by flying close to their air defense systems and then would bomb them. During the 12 years this was going on not one plane was hit. It benefited us more than them. Needless to say using this as an excuse to go to war certainly questions the sanity of the people making and agreeing with that decision. However I believe the shrub administration was throwing anything on the wall to see what would stick. Naturally they knew WMD would soil the pants of their already frightened base as you are an ample proof point.
